- George Kepner, left, and his fiance, Mary Silva, arrived at 10:30 a.m. to be the first ones to line up at Best Buy in Auburn on Thursday. Kepner of Auburn and those who soon followed had their mind set on a 50-inch Panasonic TV for $199.99. “That is a steal,” Bill Korhonen of Minot, theird in line, said. Best Buy opened their doors at 12:01 a.m. Friday morning. Rounding up the rest of early birds are, from left, Dennis Tufts of Greene, Denise Tufts of Greene, April Vannah of Auburn and her son, Dylan of Lewiston.
- This may have been Jacob Folce’s first Black Friday, but he felt he did pretty well by getting one of the 50-inch Emerson TVs for $218 and seven hours of waiting at the Auburn Walmart. Staff writer Mark LaFlamme talks to Folce and other Black Friday shopper why they wait for hours in the cold for Walmart to open.
- Once the doors opened after midnight Friday, the aisles of the Auburn Walmart were incredibly hard to travel. Much of that traffic were people pushing shopping carts with 50 inch Emerson TVs.
