Eagles to vote for custodian position
LEWISTON — Members of Eagles FOE No. 618 will meet for an election by ballot for the custodian position from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.
The group received three bids and needs to vote by body as to which bid will get the contract.

Bake sale, books, boutique in Wayne
WAYNE — Wayne Library will hold its holiday bake sale, book sale and boutique from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.
Stock up on homemade Christmas cookies, pies, cakes and candy. Savory treats will also be available. The boutique will feature Christmas ornaments and decorations, stocking stuffers and one-of-a-kind gifts.
Don’t miss the Kinkade Hawthorne Village display; all the individual pieces will be for sale at great prices.
The book sale will be open, too, with lots of nearly new books, CDs and DVDs that make wonderful gifts.
Stop in for a cup of coffee and, new this year, a light lunch of chili, soup or quiche.
Winners of Tri-Town Family 5K
MINOT — The third annual Tri-Town Family 5K took place on Nov. 9 and attracted 286 runners and walkers to the Minot course. Poland’s Lucas Yorkey finished first with a time of 21:19. Mia Turkington, also of Poland, was the top finishing female, completing the race in 23:54.
The Tri-Town Family 5K is a culmination and celebration of the Whittier Middle School Run Program. Students and staff participated in a nine-week Couch-to-5K program to grow as runners and work toward 5K readiness. Participants in the program set individual goals and logged progress. The program is intended to help students have healthy fun and build healthy habits in an effort to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
Lewiston Bridge Club winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Dec. 1 were as follows: first, Les Buzzell and Paul Mitnik; second, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; fourth, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings.
Winners on Dec. 2 were: first, Jeanine Kivus and Hazel Glazier; second, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, Rosemarie Goodwin and Les Buzzell; first in B, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton; second, Norma and Rick Verrill.
