FARMINGTON — Weber Insurance Agency will make the move from Main Street to 670 Wilton Road on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Renovation work has finally been completed on the former TD Bank building to prepare it for the insurance agency.
After more than 50 years at 190 Main St. in downtown Farmington, owner Mark Cote purchased the Wilton Road building and announced the intention to move in September or when the renovations were completed.
“We’re very excited,” said Margie Powers, one of four agents working with Cote. “We’ve had to wait for a while, but this will be great for our customers.”
The new site is handicap accessible, and the agency intends to keep the bank’s former drive-up window open for customer convenience when making payments, dropping off materials or picking up identification cards, she said.
“We believe we are the only insurance agency that has such a unique service,” she said. It is the “something new” they previously announced was coming but have kept secret until now.
The new office will provide more parking, space and convenience for customers, she said.
The availability and visibility of the Wilton Road site appealed to Cote, she said. TD Bank closed its branch and left the building last November.
The Weber agency will remain open on Wednesday at the Wilton Road site, with Powers in the office, while the remaining agents finish the move from downtown.
She asks customers for their patience, she said, as Cote and agents Erin Cote, Kim Tibbetts, Camillia Yeaton and Powers make the transition.
