LISBON — Jacob Hickey scored 16 points and Dakota Carter added 11 as Winthrop dropped Lisbon 55-41 in a boys’ basketball game Monday.

The undefeated Ramblers (5-0) and Greyhounds (1-4) were tied at 28 when Winthrop reeled off 27 points in the second half to pull away.

For Lisbon, Johnny Yim was the game’s leading scorer with 17 points.

Madison 44, Monmouth 41

MADISON — After trailing by five at the half, Madison used a 16-7 third quarter run to post a 44-41 win over Monmouth in MVC boys’ basketball action Monday. 

Nick Morales led the Bulldogs (4-1) with 15 points, including six in that key third frame. Ty Cowin chipped in with eight points, while Derek Leblanc added seven.

Hunter Richardson paced the Mustangs (3-2) with a solid 11-point effort, while Kasey Smith chipped in with nine points. 

Boothbay 86, Telstar 44

BETHEL — Boothbay jumped out to a commanding 16-point advantage in the first quarter and never backed off the gas, hustling to a 86-44 rout over Telstar in more MVC action Monday evening. 

John Hepburn led the undefeated Seahawks (5-0) with 29 points, while Julian Aponte chipped in with 14. 

The Rebels (1-4) were paced by Mike Dougherty with 18 points, while Cam Pike tallied 11 and Jeremiah Richardson added 10. 

Richmond 58, Buckfield 40

BUCKFIELD — After building a 13-point lead in the first half, Richmond husrtled to a 58-40 victory over Buckfield in an EWC boys’ matchup Monday evening. 

Matt Holt led the Bobcats with 11 points, while Cody Tribbet chipped in with 10. 

Jared Eastman led the Bucks with a solid 10-point effort, while John Randolph tallied eight and Jake Kraske added seven. 

Mountain Valley 75, Oak Hill 49

WALES — Caleb Gauvin led a group of seven players to light the boards Monday evening as Mountain Valley rolled to a 75-49 victory over Oak Hill.

Gauvin led the Falcons (2-3) with 34 points, the only player in double figures.

The Raiders (1-4) were paced by Evan Boston with 16 points, while Dalton Therrien chipped in with 13.

Girls’ basketball

Richmond 41, Buckfield 32

BUCKFIELD — After building a 15-point advantage in the first half, Richmond cruised to a 41-32 win over Buckfield in an EWC girls’ basketball tilt Monday. 

Sydney Tilton led the Bobcats (2-1) with 16 points, while Kelsea Anair chipped in with 11. 

The Bucks (2-1) were paced by Kali Litchfield and Kerseyanne Goyette with seven points each, while Brianna Damon added six.
