AUBURN — Cade Chapman notched a hat trick and Cody Woodward scored twice Wednesday, igniting Edward Little to a 6-0 Class A boys’ hockey win over Cony/Monmouth at Norway Savings Bank Arena.

Max Giard added a goal and two assists for the Red Eddies (2-2).

Chapman scored twice in the first period, the first an unassisted power-play goal, and the latter set up by Woodward.

Woodward then added two in a 34-second span of the second period. Matt Verrill and Giard assisted the first at 8:14. Tyler Couture’s pass led to the encore at 8:38.

Chapman tacked on his third with help from Giard and Zack Guimond in the second period. Giard got his goal short-handed with one second remaining in the game, assisted by Branden Dyer.

Zach Gosselin notched the shutout for EL with six saves. Tom Small made 37 stops for Cony/Monmouth.

Girls’ basketball

Oak Hill 55, Lisbon 27

LISBON — Oak Hill scored 22 points in the first quarter, held Lisbon to two in the second period and dominated throughout a 55-27 MVC girls’ basketball victory Wednesday night.

Brianna Mulherin scored 17 points and Sadie Goulet added 11 for the Raiders (4-0), who led 34-13 at the half. Mia Durgin topped the Greyhounds (0-3) with seven points. Kaylin Le added six, all from the free-throw line.

Spruce Mtn. 40, Winslow 32

JAY — Samantha Richards scored seven of her nine points in the fourth quarter Wednesday night, rallying undefeated Spruce Mountain to a 40-32 victory over Winslow in KVAC girls’ basketball.

Emily Keene led the Phoenix (4-0) with 11 points. Alex Bessey and Keene went a combined 10-for-13 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, when Spruce Mountain overcame a 24-22 deficit after being held to one point in the third quarter. Richards also reeled in a team-high six rebounds.

Delaney Wood led the Black Raiders (2-2) with nine points and nine rebounds. Heather Kervin chipped in eight points.

Boys’ basketball

Winslow 65, Spruce Mtn. 59

JAY — Nason Lanphier erupted for 23 points Wednesday night, helping Winslow stay undefeated with a 65-59 KVAC boys’ basketball win over Spruce Mountain.

Justin Martin delivered a dozen points for the Black Raiders (4-0). Deonte Ring paced the Phoenix (2-2) with 23 points. Anthony York added 15.
