BRUNSWICK — Taran Payne found the net with just 10 seconds left in overtime to give Brunswick a 53-52 win over Oxford Hills.

Payne led the Dragons (2-3) with 12 points, while Alex Bandouveres chipped in with 10.

The Vikings (3-2) were paced by Tyus Ripley with 12 points, while Andrew Fleming and Jake Yates each added 10.

Madison 79, Mt. Abram 31

SALEM — Chase Malloy led a group of 11 players to light the boards as Madison cruised to a 79-31 win over Mt. Abram in an MVC boys’ basketball tilt.

Malloy led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while Ty Cowen added 10. Three players tallied eight points each in a well-balanced, full team attack.

The Roadrunners (1-3) were paced by Quinton Hannah with a solid 13-point effort, their only player in double figures.

Mt. Ararat 61, Mt. Blue 40

FARMINGTON — Mt. Ararat went on a 22-8 run in the second frame and pulled away to post a 61-40 win over Mt. Blue in more boys’ basketball action Thursday.

Mason Griffin led the Eagles (2-3) with 22 points, while Shyheim Ulrickson chipped in with 15.

Zack Mittlestadt led the Cougars (1-4) with 12 points, their only player in double figures.

Forest Hills 69, Buckfield 20

BUCKFIELD — After jumping out to a 26-4 advantage in the first quarter, Forest Hills set it on cruise control and raced away to record a 69-20 win over Buckfield in EWC boys’ action Thursday.

Matt Turner led the undefeated Tigers (4-0) with 18 points, while Tanner Daigle tallied 15 and Brandon Ouellette added 13. Ryan Petrin also contributed with 11 points in a well-balanced attack.

The winless Bucks (0-4) were paced by Jeff Gotham and Jon Randolph with four points apiece.

Gray-New Gloucester 52, Wells 28

GRAY — Andreas Kariotis threw in 23 points and Tyler St. Pierre helped out with 11 as Gray New Gloucester dismissed Wells with 52-28 victory in a boys’ basketball game Thursday.

The Patriots (3-1) built a 27-10 lead by halftime and held the Warriors (0-5) to just two points in the second quarter.

Telstar 68, Oak Hill 51

BETHEL — Senior guard Maverik Griffin tagged 16 points and hauled down eight rebounds to pace Telstar to a 68-51 victory over Oak Hill in MVC boys’ basketball action Thursday.

The second quarter proved key for the Rebels (2-4), outscoring the Raiders (1-5) by a margin of 21-12. Cameron Pike recorded 15 points, while Mike Dougherty added another 14 points for Telstar.

Center Kyle Field shot a team-leading 12 points for Oak Hill in the losing effort.

Edward Little 55, Messalonskee 42

AUBURN — Junior forward Emily Jacques tossed a game-high 22 points to lead Edward Little to a 55-42 victory over Messalonskee in KVAC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

The Red Eddies (4-1) scored 8-of-10 from the free throw line down the stretch. Eraleena Hairston chipped in with seven points for Edward Little.

Sophomore guard Sophie Holmes recorded a team-high 20 points on seven field goals, including three from beyond the arc, and three from the charity stripe for the Eagles (2-3) in the losing effort.

Mt. Blue 59, Mt. Ararat 35

TOPSHAM — Caitlin Kane drained 18 points to lead Mt. Blue to a 59-35 victory over Mt. Ararat in girls’ basketball Thursday.

The Cougars led 30-18 at the half. Addie Brinkman contributed 11 points for Mt. Blue.

Allison Melcher hauled down 12 of the Eagles’ 28 rebounds, while sharing a team-high eight points with Nikki Bradstreet in the losing effort.

Gray-New Gloucester 57, Wells 30

WELLS — Senior forward Maria Valente collected 14 points to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 57-30 victory over Wells in WMC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

The Patriots (5-0) jumped out to a 13-4 lead at the half, and widened the lead each of the subsequent quarters.. Zoe Adams contributed 11 points and six rebounds for Gray-New Gloucester.

Sophomore guard Hannah Moody scored nine points, and posted 13 rebounds for the Warriors (0-5) in the losing effort.
