FARMINGTON — RSU 9 has received 12 applications for the position of support services director, Superintendent Tom Ward said Thursday.

The support services director oversees bus drivers, custodians, facilities and grounds.

David Leavitt, who served the district for nearly 33 years, beginning as a mechanic, left his position as director of support services Friday for a job with RSU 54.

Deadline for applications was Dec. 15.

“I’m very pleased with the quality of the applicants we have to look at,” Ward said. “We won’t start interviews until the middle of January.”

Members of the RSU 9 board’s Administrator Evaluation Committee will review the applications and conduct interviews with candidates for the position, he said. Ward will assist them in the process.

In the meantime, an interim plan has been put in place.
