I would like my opinion heard.
My daughter Rebecca Mason was killed in a car accident on Jan. 7, 2012. It was a high profile case involving distracted driving covered by the media.
The judge handed down a verdict of 18 months for two lives and allowed an appeal. This was after testimony under oath from three people that, not only did she leave them for dead, but told people not to call 911 so she didn’t get in trouble.
She still is held to no consequences three years later.
What kind of justice system do we have?
This is the message sent to our young people?
How am I supposed to live with that? It’s inhumane.
I have no holiday with my beautiful daughter and this driver gets the joy of Christmas with her daughter?
Pays no consequences?
