AUBURN — Interim City Manager Howard Kroll said he plans to keep his schedule free for public discussions on Monday nights for the foreseeable future, whether or not a City Council meeting is scheduled.

Kroll said he will stay at Auburn Hall each Monday until at least 8 p.m., making himself available for Auburn residents who want to talk.

“I have never done this before but wanted the public to know that I am approachable and willing to meet them when it is convenient for them,” Kroll wrote in an email. “If that means staying late or coming in early so they can talk, I would rather do that than play phone tag or emails.”

The City Council regularly meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Mondays of every month, except for holidays. Councilors occasionally host special workshop discussions at 5:30 p.m. on the remaining Mondays each month.

Kroll said he plans to begin his Monday hours beginning Jan. 26.

City councilors have a workshop meeting scheduled Jan. 12 and city offices are closed Jan. 19 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Auburn Hall’s regular office hours are at 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Monday through Friday.
