JAY — Spruce Mountain High School has announced the following events for the upcoming week.
Early release day
Schools in RSU 73 will have a half-day on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Students will be released at 11:30 a.m.
Martin Luther King Jr. holiday
In observance of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., there will be no school in RSU 73 schools on Monday, Jan. 19.
Athletics
Tuesday, Jan. 13: Girls basketball at Nokomis, JV 5 p.m., varsity 6:30; boys basketball at home vs Nokomis, JV 5 p.m., varsity 6:30.
Wednesday, Jan. 14: Nordic ski meet at Titcomb Mountain, slalom 4 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 15: Girls JV and boys JV basketball at Winslow, girls at 4:30 and boys at 6.
Friday, Jan. 16: Girls varsity and boys varsity basketball at Winslow, boys at 5 and girls at 6:30; Alpine ski meet at Mt. Abram, giant slalom, 4 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 17: Nordic ski meet, Maranacook Wave, freestyle, 1 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 19: Alpine ski meet at Black Mountain, giant slalom, 9 a.m.; KVAC cheering competition at the Augusta Civic Center, 10 a.m.
