SALEM — Mt. Abram High School has announced that this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen is Reilly Romanoski, daughter of Vernon and Diana Romanoski of Strong.
The DAR Good Citizen Program is sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and locally by the Colonial Daughters Chapter, which is in Farmington.
Reilly exemplifies the qualities of a DAR Good Citizen which are dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. She also has had an active high school career which includes academic excellence while participating in seasonal sports and high school organizations as well as volunteering and participating in community activities.
Throughout her years at Mt. Abram High School, Reilly has been a member of the Student Council, Girls Book Club, French Club, Knowledge Masters Open and National Honor Society.
As a junior she attended Dirigo Girls State, learning about all aspects of democracy. Reilly has served as class president for her junior and senior years. She also travelled with the French and Spanish Exchange Programs where she was immersed in the culture and habitats of foreign lands learning first-hand what life is like for students in France and Costa Rica.
In the athletic arena Reilly has been a member of Mt. Abram High School’s track team and Nordic ski team as well as cross-country team.
She has danced for several years, taking classes at The Broadway Academy of Dance in Farmington and participating in the much-anticipated annual dance recital held at Messalonskee High School.
She is an avid outdoorswoman who enjoys hiking, skiing, running, snowshoeing, snowboarding and gardening.
Throughout her high school career she has received high honors and honors on the Mt. Abram High School honor roll.
