AUBURN — Already charged with manslaughter in a hunting accident, a Wales man will be arraigned Friday on several charges of gross sexual assault.

Christopher Austin, 44, is expected to appear in Androscoggin County Superior Court to answer to eight counts. He was charged in late December after an investigation by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.

According to police, the victim or victims in these cases were under the age of 15 years old and as young as 8 years old.

In 2013, the Maine Warden Service charged Austin with manslaughter and discharging a firearm near a dwelling following a hunting incident on Nov. 20, 2012, in which Gerard Parent of Wales was killed.

Austin pleaded not guilty to those charges. If convicted of manslaughter, Austin faces up to 30 years in prison.
