SEBAGO — The Sebago Lake Region Ice Fishing Derby is preparing for another successful ice fishing event. This year’s derby will be held on Feb. 14 and 15, which is Maine’s Free Fishing Weekend, with registration and weigh stations open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Children’s Cancer Program Polar Dip will also take place on Saturday, Feb. 14, at noon. The Polar Dip has raised over $1,000,000 over the years at this event.

Also on Saturday there will be helicopter rides and activities for children including a sliding hill.

The prize pool is comprised of the $100,000 prize for beating the state’s largest recorded togue out of Sebago Lake. Every entry is also entered for the 2015 Polaris Sportsman ATV, an ice fishing package valued at $1,500 from Cabela’s for the winning togue of the derby that weekend, plus many other prizes from the $15,000-$18,000 prize pool.
