This is in response to the article “Police thwart scam,” in the Sun Journal on Feb. 5.

I send along a big “bravo” to Paris Police Chief Michael Madden and his department. Many thanks to Madden and his officers for squelching the scam and saving that 86-year-old man a huge loss.

Nice to read about a good outcome for a change.
