ANSWER: This edited information was published in the Jan. 16 Sun Spots column: AARP Tax-Aide and LA Cash Coalition will be preparing federal and Maine income tax returns for free again this tax season. We will begin making appointments on Jan. 15.

The telephone number for appointments at the Lewiston Armory is 513-3170 for AARP and 513-3160 for LA Cash. Free AARP tax preparation is also available at the Norway Public Library (333-6448) and the Ricker Library in Poland (998-3166).

We expect to have an extremely busy tax season. We will do our best to accommodate as many taxpayers as possible. — No Name via email.

On another subject, why do you not list winners in the annual any-deer permit for those who live in Monmouth ? Thanks. — R.G., Monmouth.

ANSWER: Sun Spots learned that the TV Watchers’ Guide printed in our daily pages is limited in the channels listed to the most popular channels available to the majority of our subscribers. Our separate TV Guide which can be viewed online at www2.sunjournal.com/tvbook/tvbook.pdf for free or purchased at our front desk at 104 Park St. in Lewiston, includes additional channels and may include the channels you are looking for.

To answer the second part of your submission regarding any-deer permits for those who live in Monmouth, Sun Spots learned that currently our computer program pulls all names from all towns in Oxford, Franklin and Androscoggin counties. That Monmouth is in Kennebec County would likely be the culprit. This is something that we will look to change. Thank you for asking.
