FARMINGTON — A Franklin County judge set bail at $75,000 and $25,000 on Tuesday for three Wilton residents accused of sexually molesting a child less than 14 years old since July 2014.
The three who were arrested Friday are also accused of forcing the child to watch the three adults have sex, according to police affidavits filed with the court by Franklin County Detective Kenneth Charles.
Judge Susan Oram set bail for Jamie C. Ouellette, 36, at $75,000 cash during his appearance in Farmington District Court, according to court documents.
Ouellette was arrested Friday on a Class A charge of unlawful sexual contact against a child under 14, and two Class C counts of visual sexual aggression of a child and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Ouellette is prohibited from possessing a firearm after he was convicted in 2001 of manslaughter for a 2000 accident that killed a 23-year-old New Hampshire woman, who was a passenger in a vehicle driven by him in Norridgewock, according to the Bangor Daily News archives.
When police from several agencies conducted a search warrant at the Wilton residence, they discovered a loaded Hi-Point .380-caliber pistol in an unlocked box in Ouellette’s bedroom, the affidavit states.
Oram set bail for Ouellette’s wife, Tami Ouellette, 41, of Wilton and his girlfriend, Anna LaRochelle, 24, of Wilton at $25,000 cash each. They were both charged on one count each of Class B unlawful sexual contact and a Class C charge of visual sexual aggression.
A conviction on a Class A charge carries a penalty of up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. A conviction on a Class B charge is punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. A Class C conviction carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
All three people are prohibited from having contact with children under age 16. An exception for LaRochelle is she may have contact with her son as permitted by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. An exception for Tami Ouellette is she may have contact with her child from another relationship supervised by the child’s father or Ouellette’s parents.
The Ouellettes and LaRochelle are scheduled to appear on March 26 in a Franklin County court. They remained in jail as of Wednesday morning.
Bail can be revisited after they have an attorney.
