RUMFORD — Paving projects are slated for two sections of South Rumford Road, as well as Andover Road, Wyman Hill Road and Route 5 this year.
John Madigan, town manager for Rumford and Mexico, referred to a letter from Jeremy Parker of the Maine Department of Transportation that indicated advertising for bids will take place April 15, with construction slated for the summer.
The projects include:
* South Rumford Road, beginning at Route 232 and extending northerly 8.08 miles.
* South Rumford Road, beginning one-tenth of a mile north of Wyman Hill Road and extending southerly 0.71 of a mile.
* Andover Road, beginning at Route 2 and extending northerly 4.91 miles.
* Wyman Hill Road for 1.19 miles.
* Route 5, beginning at Ellis River Road and extending northerly 5.33 miles.
Madigan said MDOT will do paving work on Highland Terrace and Harlow Hill in Mexico. Public meetings will not be held regarding this project unless requested by the municipality.
