ANDOVER – Fire crews were on South Arm Road early Friday evening after smoke was seen billowing from the eaves of a mobile home.
Firefighters from Andover and area towns went to 926 South Arm Road for a report of a possible fire. The first firefighters to respond reported there was somebody inside the home refusing to come out. Police were called to assist.
Crews from Peru, Dixfield, Mexico and Roxbury were called to shuttle water to the residence, if needed.
Smoke was first reported coming from the top of the mobile home home at about 5 p.m., a fire official said. An hour later, crews were still battling the fire, although it was said to be under control shortly after 6 p.m.
The cause remained under investigation later Friday night.
