BRIDGTON — Skiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels will race a modified slalom course at Shawnee Peak on Sunday, March 1, for Break the Sound Barrier Ski Race.
An apres-ski barbecue and awards ceremony follows the race. Prizes will be awarded for best costume, most leisurely skier, top fundraising team, fastest team, individual prizes and more.
The annual fundraiser is for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities who will race a specially designed slalom race course. For $75, a registration includes a timed run down the race course, pre-race session with Olympic slalom champ Julie Parisien, a full-day lift ticket, official face T-shirt, apres-ski barbecue lunch hosted by WGME 13 anchor Gregg Lagerquist and photo opportunities with celebrities.

Proceeds benefit hear ME now, Maine’s leading auditory oral education center committed to supporting children and adults with hearing loss, their families and their communities. Programs include home-based parent support and play groups, community based preschool programs, music programs, consultation contracts, summer programs and individualized listening and speech therapy.
