Duplicate Bridge Club results
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Feb. 20. A five-table Howell movement was enjoyed.

Ecumenical supper is March 1
RANGELEY — The annual Ecumenical soup/bread/desserts supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Episcopal Church Undercroft, 2614 Main St. Proceeds will be used to provide fuel assistance to our neighbors.
There will be soups, with bread and/or crackers from each of the four churches, and desserts from each of the four churches. The cost will be $5 for adults and $2 for children under 10.
After a day on the slopes, or out snowmobiling or watching football/golf or whatever, get out of the kitchen and plan to join neighbors and friends to enjoy fellowship and to support this very worthy cause.
Participating churches are The Episcopal Church (Church of the Good Shepherd); The Congregational Church, UCC; The Rangeley Free Baptist Church and the Catholic Church (St. Luke’s Roman Catholic).
Rumford Legion to meet, eat March 1
RUMFORD — American Legion Post 24, its Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion will have their monthly membership meeting on Sunday, March 1. The meeting is at 6 p.m. and supper will be served at 5 p.m.

Friendship Squares’ dance is March 1
WILTON — On Sunday, March 1, the Wilton Friendship Squares will host a square and round dance from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Cushing School.

WOODSTOCK — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will have their meeting and dinner at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Crosstone Restaurant, Route 26.

Oxford Seniors play nickel bingo weekly
OXFORD — Can you spare a nickel or two? This fun seniors’ group meets at the Oxford Recreation Center on King Street every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until noon to play nickel bingo.
Any senior or retired person can join — just bring a small supply of nickels.
Light refreshments are offered for a small donation.

Maine Savvy Caregiver 1 Training
FARMINGTON — SeniorsPlus announces Savvy Caregiver 1 training scheduled in Franklin county.
Training will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, March 5 to April 9, at Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Chisholm Room.
If you are caring for a family member with dementia, this training will help you learn how to take care of yourself and reduce stress and also communicate more easily with your loved one. This is a six-week workshop, with each session lasting two hours.

Seniors invited to free corned beef dinner
NORWAY — The Rotary Club of Oxford Hills would like to invite senior citizens in the Oxford Hills to a free St. Patrick’s Day luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at The Progress Center dining hall, 35 Cottage St.
You must be 55 or older to qualify. Call TD Bank at 743-8131 to sign up; the first 100 callers will join the Rotary Club members for a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner.
Health career scholarships available
FARMINGTON — The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is once again offering health career scholarships. Scholarships will be presented to students in need of financial assistance who reside in Greater Franklin County, including Livermore Falls and Livermore, and are pursuing careers in the health care field.
To be eligible, applications must be completed and returned by April 15. Applicants must also have been accepted to a school of their choice by that date.
In May, the Auxiliary will select six recipients for the $600 scholarships. The funds will be awarded following the successful completion of the first semester of post-secondary school.
