SABATTUS — Police arrested three local people Thursday at a pot-growing operation at their Bowdoinham Road home.

David Bizier, 51, was charged with aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug, more than a pound of marijuana with prior convictions. He also was charged with violating probation.

Bizier’s daughter, Julia, 19, was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, as was Erin Crosby, 35.

David Bizier and Crosby were in a personal relationship, police said.

All charges are Class B felonies, which are punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The arrests followed a weeklong investigation, police said.

Julia Bizier and Crosby were each released on $500 cash bail. David Bizier remained at Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn Friday morning, held without bail.

“The Sabattus Police Department received information from several community residents which led to a formal investigation of Bizier and ultimately a search of his residence,” Chief Anthony Ward said.

“Lt. Matthew Prince led the investigation and developed probable cause for a search warrant,” he said.

Police seized roughly 150 marijuana plants, about five pounds of processed marijuana and more than $6,000 in cash.

Local police worked with the Maine Department of Corrections’ Probation and Parole Department in executing the search warrant, Ward said.

“The investigation and arrests demonstrate the continued commitment of the Sabattus Police Department in eradicating illegal drug distributions from our town,” Ward said. “The assistance from community members proved invaluable in this investigation and greatly assisted in the removal of these illegal drugs from Sabattus.”
