LEWISTON — The following local Bates College students participated in study abroad programs for the fall 2014 semester.
Fatima Saidi of Auburn spent the fall semester studying in Austria. Saidi, a 2013 graduate of Northfield Mount Hermon School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ramazan Ali Saidi of Auburn.
Declan Chu of Winthrop spent the fall semester studying in Austria. Chu, a 2013 graduate of Winthrop High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sing Chu of Winthrop.
Lindsey Prelgovisk of Oakland spent the fall semester studying abroad in Italy as a participant in the Syracuse University program in Florence. Prelgovisk, a 2012 graduate of Messalonskee High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Prelgovisk of Oakland. She is majoring in art and visual culture at Bates.
About 60 percent of Bates students study abroad, and the college offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching study-abroad programs in more than 80 countries.
