MEXICO — A week after the Planning Board approved sex offender and curfew ordinances, the Board of Selectmen will decide at their March 10 meeting on whether to approve their recommendations and place the ordinances on the June 9 ballot.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Mexico Town Office.

Both ordinances were drafted by police Chief Roy Hodsdon, who used excerpts from other town’s ordinances.

Hodsdon said that the town did not have an ordinance in place that restricted where sex offenders can reside.

Among the provisions are that sex offenders cannot reside within 750 feet of a public or private elementary, middle or high school, or a municipal property for which children are the primary users.

The selectmen will also discuss the following:

* Signing a letter asking for Med-Care Ambulance Services to reduce their budget by 10 percent.

* Whether to purchase hydraulic cross conveyor.
