FARMINGTON — The Planning Board will listen to public input on two local projects at 6 p.m. Monday, March 9, at the Municipal Building.

A public hearing on the University of Maine at Farmington’s proposed biomass central heating plant will be held.

A hearing for McDonald’s plan to raze the Main Street building and rebuild is also planned.

When the board discussed a site-review application for the UMF project last month, some residents had questions and concerns about the plant fitting into a residential zone, wood chip deliveries and the aesthetics of the building.

Board members wanted to see more specific details for the plan at the March meeting. They wanted to see changes to the architectural facade to help make it fit in with the neighborhood.

McDonald’s project engineers were unable to make the Feb. meeting to discuss their site-review application. The board decided to schedule a public hearing for this project as well.

The board will also consider an application from Bay Communications II LLC to construct a wireless service facility or cell tower at a site off Titcomb Hill Road.
