LEWISTON — Kristen M. Schwindt-Brown, M.D., has joined the staff and faculty at the Central Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency in Lewiston.

Originally from North Dakota, Brown completed her undergraduate studies at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis., in 1997 and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 2002. She served an internship and residency in pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In 2005, she contributed an article on pediatric dermatology to the 17th edition of “The Harriet Lane Handbook.” In 2006, she was named pediatrics teacher of the year by the Johns Hopkins Department of Pediatrics.

CMMC created the Family Medicine Residency Program in 1978 to support the training of family physicians in order to provide skilled family doctors to the Lewiston-Auburn area, as well as to other areas of Maine. Previous graduates of the CMMC Family Medicine Residency Program include a number of physicians who practice in Maine.
