The Rumford Eagles will be holding a Child Advocacy Day and fund raiser for our area youth Saturday, May 2, 2015. Promoting and instilling quality community values in our youth is something the Eagles stands behind.

Each year, the Rumford Eagles hold a Child Advocacy Day that teaches area youth and parents about safety, protection, prevention and other health and welfare related activities. The goal is to bring together community outlets such as police departments, fire departments, medical, schools and community organizations to help promote safe living.

This year’s theme is “Day of the Young Child – The Learning Years.” We are looking for interested groups to set up booths that can offer info on content such as bullying, Internet safety, sex abuse, dangers of smoking, nutrition, health and any other subject that can benefit the health and well being of our youth.

We are looking to gather a list that provides parents and future parents a list of local contacts such as day care, medical, recreational, scouting and local agencies where help can be found.

Also during this event we will be doing a fund raiser for participating youth groups such as the Rumford Community Center, Mexico Rec. department, local scouting troops, Mexico Police Explorers, local schools and youth sports teams.

We are looking for donations to be able to raffle off on our Chinese Auction Table or cash donations to benefit our area youth groups. We are also looking for promotional items that can be used as prizes and give-a-ways.

All donations will be listed at the event with the name of the donor. If you could possibly help it would be greatly appreciated by all.
