ROCKLAND (AP) — Voters have selected Maine’s newest state representative.

Democrat Anne Beebe-Center will serve House District 93, which encompasses Rockland and Owls Head.

Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap said Beebe-Center won the four-way contest with 915 votes out of about 1,700 cast.

Republican James Kalloch had 770 votes. Green Independent Ronald Calvin Huber had 34. Libertarian Shawn Levasseur had 11.

All the candidates live in Rockland.

The special election took place because of the resignation of Elizabeth Dickerson, who won the seat in November but moved out of state.

Dickerson was a two-term Democrat. She resigned in January. She said professional and personal opportunities had developed since her re-election.
