March is here and I think we are finally heading into a well-deserved spring! Let’s hope it comes slowly.

I hope your winter season was full of activities! The area sports teams had a very successful season and the community support for our schools did not go unnoticed. It looks like we will be snowmobiling, skiing and ice fishing for a few weeks yet. But the temperatures are slightly higher and I’m not driving home in the dark any more!

Spring is a busy time of year here at the Chamber. There is so much going on! Preparations are already underway for our annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held Saturday, April 4. If you would like to sponsor an egg and make a child’s day, please contact Cheryl at the Chamber office.

Plans are also in the works for the Annual Dinner and Awards on Thursday, April 20, 2015 at 49 Franklin Street. Who will be named Business of the Year? If you would like to nominate a business or a business person please submit it writing to the Chamber by March 15.

We are also looking for nominations for Volunteer of the Year, the Customer Service Award and the Non-Profit/Community Service Leadership Award. Criteria for these awards and nomination forms for all of the awards can be found in the weekly newsletter or on the website.

Work on the Four Seasons Guide is wrapping up. There is still time to get in on the action though. Call the Chamber for more information.

We are continuing our membership drive – if you haven’t sent in your renewal there is still time. Now is a great time to join the chamber, too! We are always looking for fresh ideas and motivated, community oriented people to join our board. We need your valuable input – consider becoming a director!
