Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award, recognizes model Credit Union efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and non members under age 18. The award submissions highlight Community’s strong partnership with both Washburn Elementary and Longley Elementary School, Junior Achievement program participation, as well as age specific youth accounts.

Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award, which formally recognizes Credit Unions that teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and non members age 18 and older. The award submissions outline Community’s outreach to adult members through the development and certification of four staff members as CUNA Certified Financial Counselors. It also highlights collaboration with organizations to implement a Washburn Elementary School Parent Resource Center and the First Semester Seminar at Central Maine Community College.
