CHESTERVILLE — Keeping with tradition, a pre-town-meeting lasagna supper is planned by the Chesterville Heritage Society despite a change in town-meeting format this year.
While a Selectmen’s election will be held all day on Monday, March 9, the full town meeting at which the warrant will be read and voted on will be on Monday, March 23, according to a news release.
From 5 to 6:30 p.m. on March 23 at the Chesterville Town Hall, the Heritage Society will serve its annual $6 feast featuring lasagna, American chop suey, garlic bread, baked beans and coleslaw, with hot and cold drinks, and assorted bars for dessert.
“Years ago and traditionally,” recalls Heritage Society President Greg Soule, “town meeting was for many people the first chance to get out and socialize after a long winter. This supper sort of carries on that tradition.”
Whether you have attended Chesterville’s Town Meeting your whole life or this will be your first one — or even if you can’t stay for the meeting — the Heritage Society invites you to join the pre-meeting fun and fellowship.
