AUBURN — A Mechanic Falls woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from a 2014 Poland home invasion, which authorities said she orchestrated in an effort to get drugs.

Shawn Wilson, 37, was indicted earlier this month by an Androscoggin County grand jury on a Class A felony charge of robbery, punishable by up to 30 years in prison. She also was indicted on a misdemeanor count of violating condition of release because she had been free on bail when she was arrested on the robbery charge.

A judge hiked Wilson’s cash bail from $5,000 to $7,500, but dropped a requirement that her bail accompany a contract with a supervising agency.

Wilson’s attorney, Allan Lobozzo, asked the judge whether his client might be transferred to a residential drug rehabilitation facility. The judge told him he could file a motion to transfer Wilson if an appropriate opening for such a bed were to become available.

Wilson, who had been enrolled in Androscoggin County Drug Court, told an Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department deputy that she abuses drugs, according to an affidavit filed with the court.

She said she had called the victims at the Poland home in hopes of buying heroin. She rode to the Page Road home on Dec. 11 along with thee men in an SUV driven by another Mechanic Falls woman. The men had baseball bats and a hammer that were used to threaten and assault the victims at the home.

Wilson told a deputy she heard a “finger of heroin” hit the floor while at the home, according to the affidavit.

The victims were robbed and at least one was beaten before the five defendants fled. One of the victims reported hearing Wilson yell: “OK, enough. We have to get out of here.”

Authorities recovered heroin in two places in connection with the home invasion. A sixth defendant who did not participate in the Poland home invasion was charged with drug possession stemming from the incident.
