WILTON — Selectmen this week approved hiring Joseph Cadrin as a patrol officer.
“He has more than 20 years experience, brings tons of training and is good with kids,” police Chief Heidi Wilcox told the board.
Cadrin will replace Andrew Hardy, who left the department in December and joined the Maine State Police.
Cadrin relocated to the Franklin County area from Shrewsbury, Mass. He worked for the Barre and Oakham police departments.
“It is nice to be here,” Cadrin said. “I love the town already.”
He has been working with the Police Department for a couple of weeks.
He stressed how important it is to have people believing in him and the work he is doing.

In other business, selectmen reappointed Susan Black to a two-year term on the Finance Committee.
