LEWISTON — Yvette R. Audet, 81, of Lewiston died peacefully on Thursday, March 19, at Marshwood HealthCare Facility with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Grand Isle, on July 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph X. and Marthe (Lizotte) Gagnon and had been a resident of this community since 1947.
She was married to Bertrand Audet; he died on June 1, 1997.
She was a homemaker for most of her life.
Yvette enjoyed sewing, writing, reading and doing crafts.
She was a member of Horizon 55, Lewiston Senior Citizens, St. Anne’s Sodality, a parishioner of Holy Family Church, a participant of Memory to Memoirs and a volunteer of Androscoggin Home Health Care & Hospice, Marshwood Center and the Center for Wisdom’s Women.
She is survived by one son, Donald Audet of South China; five daughters, Joan MacInnes and her husband, J. Rod, of South Portland, Annette Audet of Lewiston, Nancy Audet and her husband, Dave Brown, of Topsham, Janine Audet and her partner, Mike McCarthy, of Auburn, and Susan Audet of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Gilbert Gagnon; five grandchildren, Danny, Sarah, Anna, Alexander and Maxwell; one great-grandson, Isaac; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Priscilla, Theresa, Armand, Peter, Laurette and Leo; and a grandson, Robbie.
