DEAR SUN SPOTS: A few days ago, the Sun Journal published an article in its Community News section about the Meadowview Senior Tenant Council and their upcoming activities and trips. I did get a few phone call messages, but one of them, I couldn’t even make out the name and address, while the other message had no name but wanted information about a trip and a brochure. I called the number, but the operator stated the number was not in service.
I played back the taped messages at least three time each and still could not make out the information. When you call, please say your message and your contact information: name, address and phone number, slowly so that we can make out what you need or want. I don’t want people to think that I don’t want to help them with any information or brochures.
I hope you will call back if you have not heard from me yet. Thank you. — Bert Dutil, president of Meadowview Tenant Council and trip escort. Call 207-786-2305.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: In your March 5 Sun Spots column, Judy B. in Lewiston was looking for kerchiefs for an elderly friend. I have some I want to give her, however, there was no contact information. If Judy B. can email me I would appreciate it. I would be happy to deliver them also. — Charlotte B. at cblier1@roadrunner.com.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am wondering how to contact Corporal John Macdonald of the Maine Warden Service. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you! — Cole C. via email.
ANSWER: Corporal John Macdonald can be reached via email at john.macdonald@maine.gov.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Can you tell me what happened to the Biography channel in the line-up for Time Warner Cable? It’s not listed anymore and I can’t find it by flicking through the channels. Thanks for all you do. — S.E.L. in Lewiston.
ANSWER: In the summer of 2014, A&E Networks re-branded the Biography channel as the FYI channel with a focus on reality shows. The Biography channel was known for its one-hour documentaries. The FYI channel is “a mix of food and home-improvement shows” according to an article in AdAge. You may find FYI on channel 1140, depending on your location.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was involved in a car accident in Auburn a few months ago without any personal injury. How do I get a copy of the accident report? Thanks. — No Name, No Town.
ANSWER: The Auburn Police Department offers this information: Accident reports can be obtained in person at the APD, 60 Court Street, Auburn. There is a $10 charge per report. We will need to know the date of the accident and the name of at least one of the involved parties. If you know the police report number, please provide that as well.
Or you can skip the trip to APD because crash reports are available for purchase online at GetCrashReports.com. Reports are available 72 hours after the incident.
