DEAR SUN SPOTS: It’s that time again: free aloe vera plants. Bring your plant pots and enjoy! Call Ruth at 207-784-4278. Thank you. — Ruth in Lewiston.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope you can help me to reach out to all the people who helped my son, Bryan Riley, raise funds for his Jaco robotic arm. Bryan has muscular dystrophy, and the school and community really went to work to help him raise the funds needed to get this tool, which promises to give him so much independence as he moves into adulthood. I don’t even know many of the people who gave their time, money, and effort to help with this campaign. I am reaching out individually to as many as I can, but I know I have missed many – names I did not get, people who donated anonymously, etc., and I want them all to know how grateful we are that Bryan has the Jaco arm because of their efforts. — Tina Riley of Jay.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am an activities assistant at Bolster Heights Residential Care Facility in Auburn. I am looking for donations of the following items: small, clear glass jars (baby food jars are great), buttons, ribbon, wine corks, any arts and crafts supplies and wood parts, fabric, acrylic paint and brushes. Please, no puzzles or yarn at this time. We will use these items to do arts and craft activities with our residents. Thanks in advance. — Dot at Bolster.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’ve tried to get this info online, but was unsuccessful. I’m looking for a faster toaster. Do any of your readers know of a good 4-slice toaster that has wattage higher than 1800W, maybe even a commercial one? Thank you. — Speedy-Wannabe.

ANSWER: Consumer Reports has a list of the top toasters that was updated this month. SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all the info and help you give. I hope you can help with my question. Last year when the Maine State Legislature was in session, I could receive it live and recorded it each time it met.

I had Time Warner Cable and still do have TWC, however I can no longer get the Legislation. TWC says to contact local or independent channels for info. Can you help? Thank you. Maybe if enough people are interested we can view these sessions again? — J.G. in Greenwood.

ANSWER: Sun Spots does not see “Maine Capitol Connections” listed in MPBN’s show schedule. That is the name of the show that aired the Maine State Legislature sessions. Sun Spots called MPBN and no one answered and then emailed MPBN but that was not answered as of the writing of this column.

Sun Spots then called the Maine Legislature information line at 1-800-301-3178 and learned that the airing of the legislative sessions was discontinued at the end of the last session. There are no plans to bring it back yet.
