PORTLAND (AP) — The Portland International Jetport is receiving a $917,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to plan for future growth.
General Manager Paul Bradbury says the recent passenger terminal expansion was successful from an energy efficiency point of view. But he says the next master plan will go even further, making sustainability a long-term policy throughout the airport.
Rep. Chellie Pingree says said the airport is a regional asset and an important piece of the economy, so it’s important to plan carefully for future growth.
Last year about 1.7 million passengers used the Portland Jetport, and traffic could set a new all-time record this year.
