OLD ORCHARD BEACH (AP) — An overnight fire has damaged an Old Orchard Beach seasonal motel, but there were no reports of injuries.
The blaze at the America’s Best Value Inn was reported at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the left side of the building near the pool area.
The fire was under control within a half hour but Chief Ricky Plummer says two units were damaged.
The cause is under investigation, but Plummer says it doesn’t appear suspicious. There were no guests because the motel is closed for the season.
Scarborough, Saco and Buxton fire departments also responded.
