We are in need of clean baby food jars, small plastic containers with lids (example: yogurt, margarine) or other containers, sewing supplies, paper towel tubes, wallpaper books, yarn, office supplies, buttons, craft items, wood pieces, and pencils, to name just a few items.

If you are a business and are planning to downsize or go paperless, we could use your old folders, file cabinets, or anything else that you no longer need. If you are a paint/ hardware/ or home improvement store, we could use the paint sample cards that you remove when the new colors arrive.

We would also be able to use items that are damaged and cannot be sold but would be thrown in the dumpster. If you are any business that has items that you throw away but could be used by others, we will be happy to accept them. If you are thinking of throwing something away, contact us first.

Finally, we have moved to a new location at 33 Industry Avenue. If you are coming from Lewiston or Auburn, Industry Avenue is the first left after Mac’s Grill on Minot Avenue. We will soon have our road signs up that will make it even easier for you to get to us.

If you can help us with our requests or have items that you want to drop off, call us at 207-333-6671 or email us at sharecenter@auburnschl.edu. Our director, Paula Thibodeau, will be happy to help you. To learn more about our organization, you can also visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/auburnsharecenter. — P.P. via email.

GOOD MORNING SUN SPOTS: Thank you for the great job you do informing and helping us in all our requests. The Hartford Heritage Society is again gearing up for its fundraising events to help with the restoration of the J & O Irish Museum on Rt. 140 in Hartford, Maine (slightly diagonally across the road from the Hartford town office).

Our first fundraiser will be our annual plant sale on Saturday, May 9 (the day before Mother’s Day) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at the museum. Inside the museum will be lots of raffle items, all garden related, three yards of loam and a quilt.

We are asking all local gardeners as you clean up your gardens if you would be willing to donate your extra plants to this cause. They can be delivered to the museum the night before or on the day of the sale or for pickup, please call one of the contacts below.

Our second fund raiser will be a yard sale, to be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Hartford town hall. As you spring clean, we would love to have all your unwanted items, except for computers and TVs. Clothing can be donated to the Hartford Clothing Center, contact Lori Swan for time and place of delivery for those items at 207-224-7184. We do have storage for your yard sale items prior to the sale at both the town garage (adjacent to the town hall) and in the barn at the museum.

For more information on both events or to donate, please contact, Rosie at 207-597-2270, Lianne at 207-597-2566, Pollie at 207-597-2368 or Doreen at 207-224-7147.

Thank you in advance for thinking of us with all your extra/unwanted items and also for coming by both events to support our efforts. — Doreen Maxwell, treasurer.
