PLAISTOW, N.H. (AP) — Railroad officials say a pedestrian has been struck and killed by an Amtrak Downeaster train in Plaistow, New Hampshire.
Patricia Quinn, executive director of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, says the accident occurred at 2:53 p.m. Friday.
Quinn says no passengers onboard the train — number 684 — were injured, but the Boston-bound train will be significantly delayed.
The train, which originated in Portland, Maine, remains at a standstill at the scene of the accident.
Quinn said she had no information on whether the person struck was male or female.
