SOUTH PORTLAND — A South Portland man was arrested after allegedly driving drunk with his 7-year-old child in the car. Police say it happened around 8 p.m. Saturday in Willard Square.

WGME reports that police found the operator, Momenjan Abullayof, and his 7-year-old child outside of the vehicle.

According to police, Abullayof’s car had hit a telephone pole. Police arrested Abullayof for operating under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child.

Abullayof was taken to the Cumberland County Jail. The child was not hurt.
