LEWISTON — ?Because of predictions of inclement weather, a student group at Bates College has moved its end-of-school fireworks celebration to Friday, May 15.

The student organization Sangai Asia has announced that its annual pyrotechnics? display over the college’s Lake Andrews will start around 9 p.m. 

Sangai Asia promotes Asian and Asian-American awareness, identity and fellowship at Bates. For this year’s event, the group will sell appetizers and bubble tea, and possibly arts and crafts from Nepal, at the Florence Keigwin Amphitheater, behind the Olin Arts Center at 75 Russell St., to raise money for the victims of the Nepal earthquakes.
