BRUNSWICK — William P. Kiley Jr., D.O., former chief of surgery at Rumford Hospital, has been appointed to the medical staff at Parkview Hospital in Brunswick.

After completing residency training at hospitals in Pennsylvania, Kiley joined the surgical staff at Rumford Hospital in 2002. That year, he also joined the courtesy staff at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Kiley was chief of surgery at Rumford Hospital from 2004 to 2008, during which time he was also on the medical executive committee. He joined Goodall Hospital in 2008. A member of numerous committees, he was medical director of surgical services from 2010 to 2014. He has also been a member of the medical staffs at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford and Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

In 2005, Kiley was named Young Physician of the Year by the Maine Osteopathic Association for his work as a practitioner and his involvement in the community. Award recipients must demonstrate the potential to become a major force in osteopathic medicine.

Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and a diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Kiley is also a member of the American Osteopathic Organization. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He has served on the Maine Osteopathic Association board of directors, as well as the Maine Hospital Licensing Review Board.
