AUGUSTA — The Maine Senate has voted to override Gov. Paul LePage’s veto of a bill that would provide car decals to young drivers so parents and law enforcement can more easily identify intermediate license holders.
The Senate voted 23-11 to support the bill Wednesday. It also overrode LePage’s veto of a bill concerning health services in Piscataquis County.
Meanwhile, the Democratic-led House supported overturning LePage’s veto of two bills, including one that would allow the examination for a learner’s permit to be waived if the person has a driver’s education course completion certificate. The vote was 133-17.
The bills will be sent to the opposite chamber.
The House sustained one veto of a bill that would’ve required the state to study the impact that ticks have had on the moose population.
