TOGUS SPRINGS — Edgar F. Montminy, 89, of 1250 Waterville Road, Waldo, passed away at Togus Springs on Tuesday, May 26.
Edgar was born in Lewiston on April 4, 1926, the son of the late Alphonse and Anna (Fournier) and attended Lewiston schools.
Edgar was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He married Faye Albee on Sept. 11, 1954.
He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Belfast and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He took great pride in his home and the farm, and he spent many hours working in the yard and in the barn. He loved spending time with his ever-growing family.
He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years; two daughters, Coby Thibeau and her husband, Ralph, and Melanie Eynon and her husband, Curt; two sons, Michael Montminy and his wife, Julie, and David Montminy and his wife, Lori; six granddaughters, Stephanie Novy, Deanna Thibeau, Ashleigh Montminy, Kayla Montminy, Macy Montminy and Kimberly Eynon; two grandsons, Chad Montminy and Christopher Montminy; four great-grandsons, Hunter Novy, Marcus Novy, Brandon Novy and Braxton Clark; two brothers, Roger Montminy and Gerard Montminy; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Edgar was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Armand Montminy; and four sisters, Marie Cote, Jeannie Treadwell, Bernice Martin and Irene Tremblay.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ross and Dr. Schneid, and the nurses and CNAs at Togus Springs for the loving care that Edgar received.
