Technology company Konica Minolta Business Solutions announced Tuesday that it purchased SymQuest Group, an IT services company with an office in Lewiston.
Larry Sudbay will continue to lead SymQuest as a wholly-owned subidary of Konica.
As we examined the strategic options to accelerate our growth, we felt that partnering with Konica Minolta offered the best opportunity for our customers and employees,” said Sudbay. “We will be able to expand our offerings and provide our clients with new services to enhance their productivity.”
This is Konica Minolta Business Solutions’ 20th acquisition in the past four years. With 8,000 employees, it is part of Konica Minolta Inc., an international global technology company investing more than $500 million annually in research and development.
Headquartered in Vermont, the SymQuest has seven offices, including facilities in Lewiston and Westbrook.
SymQuest bought Downeast Networks Inc. in Auburn in 2012. In 2014, it employed 14 people locally.
