AUBURN — People who missed last month’s BuildMaine conference at the Bates Mill complex can catch at least 3½ hours worth of talks online now, and on cable TV next week.

Phil Larlee, station manager at Twin Cities’ cable station Great Falls TV, said the station recorded all of the talks and keynote presentation at the conference and edited them into a video that’s available at the station’s on-demand website, greatfallstv.net/webstream.htm.

The conference was a daylong discussion of the newest ideas in urban planning, traffic and economic development centered in the Bates Mill Building No. 1.

Speakers included Maine traffic engineer Tom Errico, Auburn Mayor Jonathan LaBonte, Portland developer Vin Veroneau, Urban Design Planner John Anderson, planner Mike Lydon and author and planner Chuck Marohn.

Station staff are still working to add chapters to the video file, letting viewers click and go directly to a specific speech or point in the video.

Larlee said he expects individual, hourlong videos of talks and presentations will be running on the Twin Cities cable channels next week.

“We’ll put it out as a series, in manageable blocks,” Larlee said. “We’ll schedule one hour for one topic, another hour for a second topic and we’ll repeat them so people get a chance to view them.”

Great Falls TV provides programming for three channels on Time Warner Cable: local government programming on Channel 7, community programming on Channel 11 and educational programming on Channel 22.
