1939 – 2015

AUBURN — Deseline “Daisy” Nolette, of Auburn, passed away on Friday, June 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin with her family at her side.

She was born in St. David on Feb. 11, 1939, the daughter of Edgar and Cecile (Dumond) Cyr. She attended local schools and graduated from high school in 1959. She was married to Normand Nolette on May 5, 1962, and together they raised their family of three.

Daisy was a loyal member of St. Patrick’s Church, prior to its closing, and then become actively involved with St. Phillips in Auburn. She loved to sew which fit in very well with her part time custom drapery business and her employment at Bell Label Company for 12 years, but her favorite activity was taking care of her family. Daisy was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved to help others, always giving of herself. She enjoyed exercising with her walks and cooking for her family and friends. After she lost her husband, Normand, in 1995, she began to travel visiting Mexico, China, Rome, Paris and Iowa. When she was at home in Maine, she made many trips back to St. David to visit with her friends and family up North.

She is survived by her children, Paul Nolette of Minnesota, Claire and her husband, Michael Grevich, of Iowa, and Kevin and Elizabeth Nolette of Lewiston; five sisters, Joan Lamontagne of Biddeford, Emily Gamache of Winthrop, Claire and her husband, Philip Pelletier, of Bangor, Juliette Cyr of Brunswick, Marie Cyr of Madawaska; and a brother, Richard and his wife, Francine Cyr, of St. David; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
