AUBURN — Official results of Tuesday’s school budget referendum show it passed, 570-367, City Clerk Susan Clements-Dallaire said Wednesday.

Two ballots were blank, she said.

A second question asking voters about the size of the $39.06 million spending plan showed 356 said it was too high, 192 said it was acceptable and 371 said it was too low.

The official voter turnout was 939, or 6 percent.

The budget prompted a 1.8 percent increase in property taxes, which for a home valued at $150,000 means a $28 tax increase.

When including money from the state, the budget grew 2.15 percent from last year.
