1933 – 2015

AUBURN — Lorraine P. Cloutier, 81, of 211 Randall Road, Lewiston, and formerly residing for 50 years at 13 Ventura St., Lewiston, passed away on Friday, June 12, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn, in the presence of loving family members.

Born in Lewiston on Aug. 2, 1933, she was the daughter of Emile and Maria Poulin Provencher, who predeceased her. She attended Holy Family and Jordan elementary schools, and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1951. She worked in the office of the Bates Manufacturing Co. for a few years, and then on June 18, 1955, she married Fernand L. Cloutier at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Fernand passed away on March 14, 2011.

For 14 years, Lorraine was the co-owner and manager of the Lafayette Hotel in Old Orchard Beach. After raising their eight children and volunteering with the Boy Scouts organization, she worked at the Hallmark Cards store in the Auburn Mall. A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to the Saints Peter and Paul Society and the YWCA.

Survivors include eight children, Patricia Mayer and husband, Paul, of Billerica, Mass.; Daniel of Old Orchard Beach, David and wife, Elaine, of Billerica, Mass.; Richard and wife, Mary, Gregory and wife, Carol, of Old Orchard Beach; Lise and husband, Steven Corson Jr., of Greene, Celeste Ledoux and husband, Christopher, of Portsmouth, N.H., and Fernand II and wife, Maureen, of Lewiston; her 17 grandchildren, Jean-Paul and Andre Mayer, Natalie Cloutier, Stephanie and Gina Cloutier, Christopher, Peter and Alison Cloutier, Christina Cloutier Connell, Dominic and Justin Cloutier, Zacharie, Aurelie and Ranger Ledoux, Brady and Gavin Corson and Taryn Cloutier; a great-grandson, Jameson Leo Connell; and one brother, Ronald Provencher and wife, Beverly, of Bowie, Md., and many nieces and nephews.
