LEWISTON — College for ME-Androscoggin, 150 East Ave., announces that Maggie Davis will join the organization as program director, starting in mid-June.

Davis will oversee key programs and services, including the state’s largest early college studies program and a growing set of services that provide adult students with direct career and college counseling aimed at ensuring their college success.

Davis has extensive experience in the field of college access. She served as director of the Future Center in Lynchburg, Va., providing college exploration and career guidance to almost 3,500 sixth- through 12th-graders, many of whom she helped with post-graduation plans and continued to support beyond high school.

She has most recently been an adviser for the Maine Educational Talent Search, helping to recruit more than 100 eligible students in five months for the TRiO Program, a federally funded college access program for first-generation middle and high school students.

Davis is also a certified career development facilitator and has taken courses at the Muskie School in Non-Profit Management. In addition, she has a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s in theology, and has started her doctoral work in women’s spirituality.

College for ME-Androscoggin provides career and college counseling for adults, helps teens take tuition-free early college courses while in high school, and enables multiple generations in families to focus on college entry and success.

The organization also works with businesses that are interested in furthering employee education.
